Driver hospitalised after overturning car

A man was taken to hospital following a crash on Alexander Drive.

The driver of a blue Volkswagen Golf struck a wall near the junction with Woodbourne Road last night and overturned the vehicle, which carried on out of control before coming to a stop at Primrose Avenue.

It's alleged the same vehicle failed to stop for a marked police van a short time before the collision shortly before ten pm.

The road was closed for several hours following the crash.
