Funeral for former Mayor

The funeral for the former Mayor of Douglas Dot Pitts, takes place today at St Georges Church today.

Mrs Pitts who died at the Hospice on Tuesday following a long battle with cancer, was well known for her charity work on the island.

Carol Cowen the ex president of Isle of Man Cancer told Energy Fm how she will remember Dot.

The service will be attended by a host of dignities including current Mayor Richie McNicholl and a troop of soldiers from The 12th Regiment Royal Artillery who were recently given the freedom of the Borough.
