Emergency team on stand by

The dept of infrastructure is to deploy its emergency control room at Ellerslie for the next 24 hrs to deal with the aftermath of tonight's storms.

Staff from the forestry division will also be available should extra resources be required.

The teams will have a number of pieces of equipment available to them such as chainsaws, pumps and cranes should they need to clear fallen trees or other debris.

Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne spoke to Energy FM news earlier.
