Police expect there will be fallen trees in the morning

Police are advising against all none essential journeys as the weather on the Island is set to worsen.

Members of the public are being told not to travel unless it is absolutely necessary.

Winds reaching storm force 10 are forecast, with gusts reaching up to 80 miles per hour, as well as heavy rain.

It's expected there will be a number of fallen trees in the morning, and that fords and rivers may flood.

The Steam Packet Company has cancelled all sailing today, and Manx 2 will be suspended flights from three pm.

The Department of Education and Children has confirmed that all its schools will close as normal.

However evening courses run through the Isle of Man College and DEC Youth Clubs have been cancelled.

A full list of cancellations and affected services can be found in the Energy FM Action Line
