Tuition fee changes could lead to tightening of criteria

Minister for education Eddie Teare has told Energy FM news that the budget for tuition fees is already at its limit.

Fee's for a place at university are set to rocket in coming months, and an announcement is set to be made by the UK today on what cap will be put in place.

Mr Teare has said that he would have to propose to Tynwald a crack down on the criteria for qualifying for a place.

He also said that some courses currently being subsidised may have to be removed if they cannot be afforded.
