Questions raised of care of young people report

Social Care Minister Martyn Quayle

The Social Care Minister is to face questions on a report commissioned following the murder of two teenagers on the Island.

Douglas East MHK Chris Robertshaw will ask Martyn Quayle if he plans to invite an independent government body to inspect the Island's Social Services in this month's Tynwald.

Such an inspection was recommended in the Commission Inquiry into the Care of Young People 2006, following the murders of Samantha Barton and George Green in 2002

The October sitting of Tynwald begins on Tuesday.
