An Onchan woman who hit a former friend in the head with a glass has been jailed.
23 year old Carly Elizabath Shimmin admitted an offence of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Shimmin saw the victim, Amanda Dawson, in Colours nightclub in July, and hit her in the side of the head with a glass.
As a result Ms Dawson sustained a serious eye injury, temporarily lost her sight and was detained in Noble's for a week.
The women had been friends but fell out when Ms Dawson was accused of throwing a brick through Shimmin's window.
Deemster Doyle sentenced Shimmin to 18 months in prison, adding that there is too much violence on the Island, and that those who get involved in such incidents will lose their liberty.
