A police officer has rescued a person from the water for the second time in just over a year.
PC David Schumacher entered Douglas harbour last night, following a number of 999 calls reporting a woman screaming for help near the Solway Harvester.
The woman was clinging to the rope and was half submerged in the freezing water.
As she became tired she was unable to keep her head above water, at which point the officer jumped in to help her.
PC Schumacher was honoured for rescuing a member of the public from the sea in September last year.
Both the officer and the woman were taken to hospital for treatment for hypothermia, but were released a short time later.
