One of the Island's politicians is calling for the decision to sell the Summerland site to be reversed.
North Douglas MHK John Houghton says selling the land is a ludicrous decision by the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure.
Sefton Group were originally awarded the tendor to redevelop the site but were unable to finalise details.
The tendor was re-advertised but only one proposal was put forward, which was deemed unsuitable.
The Summerland site is now to be sold on the open market, and is expected to raise around £5million
