Government confirms sale of Summerland

Summerland before it was demolished

It's been confirmed the Summerland site is to be sold off.

The site on King Edward Road was put out to tender earlier this year, but only one application was made, which the Government deemed unsuitable.

An earlier tender process saw the redevelopment of the site handed to Sefton Group, but they were unable to finalise terms with the Department of Tourism and Leisure

The Department of Community, Culture and Leisure, who are now responsible for the site, says the land will be sold on the open market.
