Houghton to justify Government pay

The Chairman of the Civil Service Commission has been called in front of the public accounts committee to justify the pay given to Government professionals.

John Houghton MHK is the Chairman that oversaw the pay review for the corporate leadership group in 2007, and has been asked to justify the amounts awarded.

Mr Houghton told Energy FM news that he is more than happy to give evidence at the hearing next week, and that it's right that Government officials are called to account for their decisions [play clip]
