12-man jury request turned down in manslaughter trial

The jury is being sworn-in in a manslaughter trial.
18 year old Craig Thomas Sheppard from Jurby is accused of the manslaughter of Lionel Ramsey Kewley, who died in October last year.
The defence requested a 12 man jury, but this was turned down.
A Manx jury is traditionally made up of seven jurors, but twelve can serve for more serious cases.
The trial is set to last for seven day.
Sheppard denies the charge.
