Wind power to be discussed

An energy boss hoping to build wind farms along the Ballaugh and Jurby coast will speak at a public meeting later this month.

Chris Bale is the Chief Executive of Ocean Electric Power, a company which has been exploring renewable energy possibilities on the Island over the last 18 months.

The meeting has been set up by Michael MHK David Cannan, whose constituency includes Ballaugh and Jurby.

Mr Cannan is against the plans, believing on-shore wind farms would disfigure the Manx Countryside, and would rather see the Island use wave power.

The meeting will take place at Ballaugh Parish Hall on the evening of September 28th from 7.30.
