The Liberal Vannin Party has responded to a newsletter recently published by a former member.
South Douglas MHK Bill Malarkey talked about his decision to quit the Party in 2008 in a letter sent to his constituents.
The Party suggests Mr Malarkey has only chosen to speak about his decision to leave now, as there is just over a year to the next General Election.
Mr Malarkey said he left the Party as he had been unaware he was expected not to take a Government job, but the Party says this was made clear before the 2006 election.
Liberal Vannin is also unhappy that Mr Malarkey didn't step down and seek re-election as an independent candidate when he left the Party.
It claims the constituents of Douglas South are extremely angry over Mr Malarkey's decision to leave, claiming the voters chose Liberal Vannin not Bill Malarkey.
