Mayor thanks Manx people for ceremony turn out

The Mayor of Douglas Cllr Richie McNicol has expressed his gratitude to the people of the Isle of Man for the turn out at Saturdays Freedom of the Borough ceremony.

Thousands of people lined the streets of Douglas on Saturday afternoon to watch the12th Regiment Royal Artillery recieve the honour, then march down the promenade accompanied by a mark 2 challenger tank.

The crowds cheered and clapped as the Kings division band lead the procession to the Cenotaph were a wreath was laid to honour fallen comrades.
