Visitor killed in Shoulder Road Crash

A 69 year old man who was visiting the Island has been killed this morning (Saturday) in a crash on the A36 Shoulder Road.

The collision happened just before noon and involved a Land Rover, being driven by a woman from Dalby, and two motorcycles. The man was one of the motorcyclists involved.

Police closed the road for over four hours whilst examinations were carried out.

They are appealing for anyone who may have seen the vehicles or who may have information to contact them on 631212.

The area was busy at the time as the 2 Day Trial was running through the area. Competitors had to be re-routed during the road closure and at this time the crash is not thought to have involved anyone involved in the event.
