The people of Douglas will bestow its highest honour today on an Army regiment.
The 12th Regiment Royal Artillery are to be given the freedom of the borough of Douglas at a ceremony.
The soldiers will march from the Town Hall with fixed bayonets, down Victoria Street and onto Douglas Promenade. They will then march upto the war memorial and lay a wreath to honour fallen comrades.
The Mayor of Douglas Councillor Ritchie McNicoll has called for all the people of the island to come out and show their support the troops before they head of to Afghanistan later in the year.
