The Manannan arrived in Liverpool nearly two hours behind schedule due to weather conditions this lunchtime.
The vessel had been due to dock at 10.30, but due to the conditions in the Mersey it didn't arrive until 12.25.
This has had a knock on effect with the rest of today's crossings between Liverpool and the Isle of Man.
The remaining sailings are subject to delays of up to two hours.
The crossing originally scheduled for eleven thirty departed at 1.35, and is due into Douglas at 4.35.
The Steam Packet Company is due to issue an update shortly.
