It has been confirmed that one of the Steam Packet Company's fastcraft will go out of service next month.
Repairs on the Snaefell will begin from September 7th, when the sailing schedule is less busy.
The vessel is in need of repairs after a crankshaft failure in one of the engines.
The Manannan has the same problem, but will remain in service until the end of the fastcraft season as the affected engine needs to be removed.
Crossing times on the Liverpool, Dublin and Belfast routes are currently longer because of the damage.
