A Douglas man who threatened another man with a chisel has been given a suspended sentence.
37 year old Eamonn Smith admitted possessing a chisel in a public place, making use of provoking behaviour and theft.
Smith was arrested in March for stealing from the Co-op in Duke Street.
He was further arrested in April for threatening to batter a man whilst waving a chisel on Selbourne Drive.
His advocate says he wouldn't have carried out the threats, and that his mind was clouded as he was high on mephedrone.
The Deputy High Bailiff sentenced him to four months suspended for two years.
