New MHK to be sworn in

The new MHK for Douglas East is to be sworn in today.

Chris Robertshaw will be sworn in ahead of the start of this month's sitting of Tynwald.

Amongst the topics being discussed in this month's sitting are the cost of the next faze of the Janet's Corner works, upgrading the electrics in the hospital and phone tapping.

This morning, members will concentrate on the Question Paper, which includes inquiries on proxy voting, road tax and railways.

Tynwald sits from 10.30 this morning.
