Team Isle of Man Cyclists were in action today on the Gold Coast roads for the Time Trial.

The 38.5km course starts on the spectacular Currumbin Beachfront.

First to go was Nathan Draper, and then it was an hour later when Teammates Sam Brand and Jake Kelly took to the course within a few minutes of each other.

In Time Trial you have to wait to see how the later starters are performing to get an idea on who is winning – but early indications were that a speed of around 48kph would be in for the win.

Jake Kelly came home 21st in a time of 53:23.94 – a speed of 43.259kph followed by Sam Brand 22nd 53:45.77 – a speed of 42.966kph

After the race, Draper spoke to Energy FM’s Juan Turner and said that conditions were a huge factor in his performance: [Take Cut]
