Team Isle of Man 'relaxed' ahead of games

Tue, 03 Apr 2018

Team Isle of Man athletes are feeling 'relaxed' ahead of the start of the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia's Gold Coast.

33 athletes will represent the Island in range of sports including Cycling, Swimming, Shooting and Lawn Bowls.

Trevor Taubman is General Team Manager for the third time after successful stints in the role in Delhi and Glasgow.

Trevor will look after the interests of the Manx athletes, managers and coaches.

He's told Energy FM - the aathletes are feeling relaxed after acclimatising to the temperatures and time difference.

"Nerves will probably play a bigger part near competition but the athletes do seem relaxed."

The Games will take place over 12 days, between April 4 and 15, and temporarily be home to more than 6,600 athletes and officials from 70 Commonwealth nations and territories.
