The emergency services are urging Manx residents only to make essential journeys today as heavy rain continues to cause flooding around the Island.

A number of roads have been closed because of the conditions, including the Mountain Road, Ballig Bridge to Kirk Michael and Mines Road to the Hope in Lower Foxdale.

The police and the fire service are asking motorists to avoid all journeys unless absolutely necessary.

Officers are also reminding those who are travelling around the Island not to ignore road closed signs.

The Met Office at Ronaldsway has issued an amber weather warning, which is due to remain in place until 3pm tomorrow.

You can stay up to date with all the latest road information on the Energy FM Facebook page.
