The Department of Education and Children wants to build an extension to replace mobile classrooms at Willaston.

The Department of Education and Children hopes to spend almost £5m building new school facilities in the next four years.

Projects at Onchan Primary School, Scoill yn Jubilee and Willaston Primary School are due to take place by the 2020-2021 financial year.

The plans include spending nearly £1.7m improving classrooms, kitchen facilities and providing a sports hall at Onchan.

Over 2.5m will be used on redevelopment on Scoill yn Jubilee's Ballaquayle and Murray's Road sites, while the mobile classrooms at Willaston will be replaced by an extension.

However, each project still needs to be approved by Tynwald, with only funding for the design fees agreed so far.

The Department confirmed the projects are under review, and hopes the timeline for these plans will become clearer in next year's budget.
