A new father has apologised to the courts after breaking his bail conditions to attend the birth of his baby.

28-year-old Mark Galbraith was arrested at Noble's Hospital earlier this week after breaking a condition not to contact the child's mother.

It was imposed during a court hearing earlier this month where he pleaded not guilty to a charge of provoking behaviour on August 16th - he will now stand trial.

At Douglas Courthouse Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes re-granted bail saying she appreciated the "circumstances were emotional" - a pre-trial review will take place on October 20th.
