Residents told 'cut back your bushes or be fined'

Sat, 01 Aug 2015

Ramsey residents with obstructive and overhanging hedges could be fined if they don't take action to cut them back.

Ramsey Town Commissioners has published new guidelines following a number of complaints regarding hedges, trees and shrubs.

They say the responsibility rests with the landowner - with the threat of a £1000 fine for those who do not comply.

In the event where vegetation poses a potential risk to public safety the commissioners will take action and then seek to recover costs from the landowner.

Anyone wishing to report a problem can e-mail enquiries@rtc.gov.im.
