Be 'tick aware' in warmer weather.

That's the message from the Department of Health and Social Care which says some people have had to attend Noble's Hospital to have them removed.

Small, spider-like creatures, ticks feed on the blood of animals and humans - they're usually found in moist areas and attach themselves to the skin as people brush past.

To minimise the risk people can wear light long-sleeved shirts and trousers, use insect repellents and inspect the skin after walks.
